CURRENT SENSOR IN CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURES

  2023-09-05

For current sensing in CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURES, we would recommend our Luksens’s N series with current sensor which operates on the principle of magnetic compensation.

With the popularity of electric vehicles in recent years, and the number of electric vehicles on the road expected to reach 157 million by 2030, which brings "charging anxiety" to many car owners. Charging infrastructure needs to evolve in tandem and sometimes anticipate the growth of electric vehicle inventories.

As we all know, there are two main ways to charge an Electric Vehicle (EV) that are dominant on the market, which is AC chargers, for Alternative Current charger and DC charger for Direct Current charger. The standard charge is divided into four modes, Mode 1 due to the lack of necessary security protection, most countries and regions are prohibited to use. Mode 2 is a kind of AC charging equipment that can be used with the car. The difference between Mode 1 and Mode 2 is that Mode 2 has a control protection box (IC-CPD) on the charging cable. Mode 3 is AC charging pile, and Mode 4 is DC charging pile.

Charging methods are getting more diverse as electric vehicles have grown in popularity. There are several charge techniques for certain scenes and group of people. Some drivers will charge their cars mostly at home or at work, where their cars can "fill up" while they sitting all day or all night. In addition, Mode 4 can fulfill the need that owners who require rapid charging, such as logistics vans and Uber drivers, as it normally only takes 15-45 minutes for charging.

Luksens - Your Specialist for Current Sensor Solutions

Luksens offers a diverse selection of current sensors for power module converters that convert Alternate Current to Direct Current. Current sensors are required in each power module to ensure the control loop operation, which regulates the stability and power of inverters.

For current sensing in CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURES, we would recommend our Luksens’s N series with current sensor which operates on the principle of magnetic compensation.

There are several advantages of NxxA series, which makes it can be perfectly applied on Charging infrastructures:

  • 1. Non-Contact measurement of high current
  • 2. Close-Loop measurement (compensated)
  • 3. Max. measuring range ±150A (DC or AC peak)
  • 4. High frequency bandwidth 200kHz
  • 5. RoHs compliance (Lead-Free)

The NxxP series is a current transducer which operates on the principle of magnetic compensation.

  • 1. Non-Contact measurement of high current
  • 2. Close-Loop measurement (compensated)
  • 3. Max. measuring range ±300A (DC or AC peak)
  • 4. Nearly zero magnetic hysteresis
  • 5. High frequency bandwidth 100kHz
  • 6. RoHs compliance (Lead-Free)
